Projects
1. Khumbu Project
The Khumbu Valley is the gateway to Mount Everest. The population of approximately 10,000 people, includes 2,000 children. There are 10 primary schools in this region. SmileHigh is currently seeing 500 children per annum and has done so since 2004.
2. Langtang Project
The population of approximately 4,100 (Dhunche region) people, includes 800 children. SmileHigh explored this area in April 2008. The purpose was to assess the oral health condition of the children and ascertain the resources required to service this region. SmileHigh has trained and is currently training dental therapists in Kathmandu. These therapists will work to deliver SmileHigh services in this region under the supervision of Dr Mingma Sherpa.
3. Lamabagar Project (Proposed)
Population is approximately 1,500 (Dolkha region) people, including 400 children.
