Help / Support

The approach to support and help is consistent with all other aspects of SmileHigh. Sustainability is achieved through value for money and a long-term view with respect to funding strategies.

SmileHigh has forged significant pro-bono relationships with key groups for the supply of support services. These pro bono relationships allow SmileHigh to distribute close to 100% of all financial donations to Nepal where the money is most needed to ensure healthy teeth and bigger smiles.

The support vision for SmileHigh follows the example set by Sir Edmund Hillary: He suggested that people should be prepared to contribute something in their lives in order to make the world a better place for all of its inhabitants.

SmileHigh has been established as a platform for people to contribute. We understand that people wish to give in different ways. Some people like the idea of contributing their time, others their expertise while many others are willing to make financial donations. All are critical and valuable to SmileHigh and it is the mixture of these forms of contribution that allows SmileHigh to be successful.

In Australia SmileHigh is an approved Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS) project. This relationship with RAWCS allows for tax deductibility of donations in Australia. It also allows for those who participate in approved SmileHigh Expeditions to claim a tax deduction for flights to and some expenses when in Nepal. The relationship with Rotary goes much further where through the wide networking opportunities in Rotary SmileHigh has gained support from a variaty of rotary clubs in Victoria.

SmileHigh has additionally received support from private businesses within the dental and orthodontic industry.

Private donors have been the life-blood for SmileHigh in the past five years and through Friends of SmileHigh we hope that this strong and highly valued support continues.
